Richards Taking Nothing For Granted
Defender wary of the threat Millwall will pose this weekend.
One point is all that separates Aston Villa Ladies and Millwall Lionesses as the sides prepare for a bottom of the table clash on Sunday.
Each without a win in their first six FA Women’s Championship games, the match represents a great opportunity to get three points on the board.
First team captain Jade Richards believes whichever team wants it more will emerge triumphant at the final whistle.
She said: “Millwall will be another game where we have to forget about where we both are in the table.
"It’s about whoever turns up on the day, whoever performs, whoever fights for the win, whoever puts their bodies on the line to defend.
“That’s how we’re going to take it, we’re not going to look at the table and think we should beat Millwall or Millwall should beat us.
"That’s not how it’s going it’s about who turns up on the day just like we proved today against Tottenham as we put in a good showing."
Millwall arrive at Boldmere St Michaels on the back of consecutive 8-0 defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Charlton Athletic, leaving them one place below Villa at the foot of the FA Women’s Championship.
Today’s visitors were put to the sword by former Villa striker Elizabeta Ejupi seven days ago, with the forward scoring four of Charlton’s eight.
The match also marks the club's Remembrance Day fixture, and you can find details about the day's activities, match tickets and more here.
