Homegrown Duo Called Up By England
England Under-18s have called upon Jodie Hutton and Asmita Ale for a fixture camp in the USA in October.
Asmita Ale and Jodie Hutton have been called up to the England Under-18 squad for a fixture camp in the United States in October.
The homegrown duo, who are regulars in the Aston Villa Ladies first team, will join the squad on 6 October as they head to Tampa Bay for three games during an 11-day training camp.
The young Lionesses will play against Mexico on 10 October, Columbia on 12 October and USA on 14 October before heading home three days later.
Winger Hutton has started every game for Villa so far this season, impressing on the left-hand side with her pace and power.
Meanwhile, defender Ale made her first start of the season in a 1-0 Continental League Cup win against Leicester City earlier this month.
General Manager Amber Wildgust said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Asmita and Jodie have been recognised by the national set-up.
“The pair are progressing into senior football and experiences with England will only serve to aid their development.”
The news comes off the back of seven graduates from the club’s Regional Talent Club featuring in the win against Leicester – a game in which the average age of the squad was 20.
Twenty-one is the average age of this season’s squad as a whole, with youth being promoted to the senior side throughout the campaign so far.
